I Love Peckham Background

I Love Peckham was first piloted in 2004 as a small weekend festival in Peckham town centre, aimed at celebrating the area’s diverse creative community and was funded through the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
By 2008 I Love Peckham grew to be a week long festival, offering a range of supportive creative platforms from which to profile local talent. Activities took place in 45 venues and spaces around SE15 culminating in an outdoor weekend festival in the town centre engaging local artists, schools, shopkeepers and local business, community and voluntary groups and venues, with audiences of over 5,000, up to 300 artists and over 2500 young participants.
In 2009, Southwark Council and Southwark Arts Forum aim to establish I Love Peckham as a creative portal to better serve Peckham’s blossoming cultural quarter and to initiate the much needed SE15 creative network.
I Love Peckham has profiled SE15’s creative community to a London wide audience and raised local aspirations through successful marketing of the brand. It has been instrumental in encouraging new creative spaces, generating models of best practice and influencing cutting edge creative projects in open and disused spaces. It has also encouraged artists to work with local businesses in town centres and continues to attract new creative partners to SE15.

Southwark Arts Forum helps artists, arts organisations and creative industries in Southwark to excel and to have a greater impact on their local community. We do this by providing a wide range of networking, information and advice services including: networking events, E-Bulletins and one-to-one sessions. With over 2000 members we are a rich creative network widely known in Southwark and beyond. To become a member, please visit
