24 May 6pm – Role of Art Institutions in Peckham – discussions with residents

Over the last several years, there have been a growing number of art events involving local residents in Peckham.  Tim Birtwistle is an artist/film-maker currently organising a project based around the role and involvement of art institutions in South East London. His current project is to examine the Role of Art Institutions in Peckham, including a discussion with local residents. This will take place

Future of London Bridge Station exhibition & public meeting

London Bridge station will be rebuilt between 2012 and 2019. This is a major redevelopment in our part of London which will have a big effect on the area around London Bridge affecting rail users, bus users, local Bermondsey residents and anyone travelling through or visiting that area. Next week there is a Network Rail exhibition at the station with rail people there to answer questions.

25, 26, 27 May – Adapting Peckham events

There are many students who now take Peckham town centre as a case study across a range of  professions. This email gives information about a workshop involving students from the UK and Japan. They will be here in Peckham 25-27 May, and local residents who take an interest in Peckham town centre are invited to engage with the students:

Now it in its sixth year, the Festival Fair will bring together a selection of the best craftspeople, designers, independent shops, bars and cafes from the vibrant and creative East Dulwich area. Lots of free family fun and live music, too.  The donkeys will make another appearance this year!

I will be there with the Peckham Residents’ Network stall as usual, (alongside the Friends of Goose Green stall). We will have all the latest on the continuing step by step transformation of Peckham Rye station, including next steps for the Old Waiting Room. Come and find out about that and how it will help to realise the potential of Peckham town centre. It will be great to meet some of you.
