message from local artist Alice White:

You are cordially invited to join me for a small but perfectly formed exhibition of new works.

Petitou is famed locally for it’s fantastic array of cake, coffee and camaraderie. Join me from 5.30-8.00pm on Friday 2nd September to celebrate at the Private View for this month-long show.

Many of you are familiar with the area, but for those not in the know it’s a 3min walk from Peckham Rye station which you can get to directly from London Bridge and Victoria. Bring anyone and everyone you know; all are welcome.

South London Limbo
Artist Simon Faithfull shares his drawings of Peckham’s diverse landscapes
8-10pm
In this special presentation for the Peckham Free Film Festival, artist Simon Faithfull will showcase Limbo – an ongoing website and iPhone app that acts a pocket archive of the numerous digital drawings he has made at far-flung places around the globe.
The diverse landscape of Peckham provides the latest stop on his travels, and the opportunity to make some new drawings that will be instantly uploaded to Limbo site and app.
Simon will be guided to some of the hidden corners of Peckham by artist, designer and cook, Jake Tilson – a local resident of many years’ standing, and an astute and observant chronicler of the details, and flavours, of the area.
The duo will walk through SE15, along what promises to be a circuitous route.
Come to Nutbrook Studio, 8pm, to hear Simon and Jake relive and relay what they have discovered along the way, with time for audience questions.

PS NOTE:
Nutbrook Studios are in the former factory lying between Nutbrook & Howden Streets which was the subject of a planning application two years ago to change its use to a church and community centre. Local residents researched the use issues, and concluded that such a publically accessible use would cause immense problems given that the site is embedded between the small back gardens of the houses of four streets, and that some form of managed workshops would be the right kind of use for that site. So there was relief all round when the site finally transformed into Nutbrook Studios in the last 6 months. These events on 10th September can be a time of celebration for immediate local residents.
