There is so much happening now in Peckham – we can’t keep up these days since it all started in 2005, when we teamed up with the artists in the Bussey building in Copeland Park to publicise the potential there.
The plans for the new station square are now being developed by Network Rail, see – http://www.peckhamryestation.com. But they are accompanied with ideas for major redevelopment along the sides and at the back of the station. The big question is – would wholesale redevelopment in Blenheim Grove, Holly Grove and behind the station help or kill off central Peckham’s creative economy? or would enabling new businesses to continue to find their own places in the existing buildings, and providing a natural complement to the new square, be a better way to go?
We will have info on this, where the Bussey building/Copeland site fits in, a possible new future for the multi storey car park home of Bold Tendencies & Franks Cafe, what is happening to Rye Lane trading and much more, at our Peckham Vision community pop-up @ Peckham Springs 16th-18th December.
For details see the attached poster/leaflet. If you can, please print it for display somewhere, and forward this email. Peckham Springs is a successful new weekend art gallery (Sassoon Gallery) with bar in the arches beneath platforms 3 & 4 at the station. At ground level it is behind Bar Story and the entrance is via Blenheim Grove. Peckham Springs have generously given their space for this alcohol-free event for
the community.
