community pop-up: Mon 16, Tues 17, Wed 18

Message from Peckham Vision
Drop in during the day, on your way home, on the way to the station, or if you are in Rye Lane. Or come anyway! Through the arch in Blenheim Grove into the area behind the station and behind Bar Story. Follow the signs. For two and half days, next Mon, Tues, Wed, you can visit Peckham Vision in the heart of Peckham town centre. We will be open morning, afternoon, and evening Mon & Tues, and on Wed morning. So hope this enables those to come, who can’t get to the usual meeting times.
* pop-up community meetings at 7pm Monday & Tuesday, talks & discussion:
MON 7pm  – Peckham regeneration & gentrification, what’s the link and what’s the effect, with Eileen Conn.
TUES 7pm – Peckham Rye Station & Holdron’s store, latest historical findings with Benedict O’Looney.

There is so much happening now in Peckham. Peckham Vision grew out of the campaign from 2005 about the tram depot site; that site is now realising some of its potential instead as a creative cultural hub through the Bussey building and Copeland Park. Then there was the Old Waiting Room in the station rescued from decades of neglect; the multi storey car park revived as a summer social & cultural hub; recently the Peckham Liberal Club registered as a community asset. Now the Station Gateway site is a focus for a big regeneration project. What does all this tell us about community action, creative enterprise and the standard approach to regeneration & development? Come & find out more and take part in the discussions.
For details of the community pop-up see the attached poster/leaflet. If you can, please print it for display somewhere, and forward this email.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS – with many thanks:
Peckham Springs is a successful new weekend art gallery (Sassoon Gallery) with bar in the arches beneath platforms 3 & 4 at the station. At ground level it is behind Bar Story and the entrance is via Blenheim Grove. Peckham Springs have generously given their space for this alcohol-free event for
the community.
The event is a collaboration between Peckham Vision and the community Peckham Planning Network which formed during the work to prepare for the Public Hearings into PNAAP (Peckham & Nunhead Area Action Plan)
This event is part funded by a small grant from Southwark Council’s Peckham & Nunhead Community Council Fund
