COMMUNITY’S PECKHAM RYE STATION MODEL LAUNCHED

Locals flocked to the CLF Art Cafe on 23rd July for the first public display of the community built model of the town centre area round Peckham Rye station. The launch was a joyous celebration of community collaboration in its making and display. People queued for the doors to open, and we were kept very busy throughout the exhibition, film and meeting. There was a great buzz and we managed to attract people in from the street through our volunteers and TODAY posters at the Rye Lane entrance and pictures along the passage into the Bussey building.

CALLING VOLUNTEERS KEEN TO BE MODEL MAKERS

There is still work to complete the existing model, and to contribute to the co-design process for the station site. There are also further development sites in the town centre that can be modelled. The model group sessions will resume in the Autumn. No model making experience is needed to join in this group. If you would like to know more please email Clyde <clydewatson07@gmail.com>. Information about the model and the model making group is being posted here: http://www.peckhamvision.org/wiki/Gateway_model
