Macbeth in Peckham

5th – 10th March there will be more drama on the Copeland site, which was going to be demolished for the tram depot, and now is alive with cultural activities. http://www.peckhamvision.org   Following Opera in Space in the Bussey building in January, Macbeth will unfold in and around the buildings next door.  Further information is below.

Macbeth at the Last Refuge in the Copeland Quarter

Join us as we use the Last Refuge to its fullest potential.
Suitable for adults and children (11+).

Set in a council estate recovering from war, explore the old factory as you witness Macbeth’s dark and dystopian journey. Walk through dark alleys of the estate, attend the funeral of a king and finally take refuge behind the loading bay doors that could hold against any attack.

At the Last Refuge in Peckham, this unique arts space is a wonderful blank canvas for this promenade production. Taking you throughout the building, round the sides, back and roof – experience Macbeth like never before but be careful…the witches, played by the young people of Peckham, will be watching over you, covering the walls in sinister scrawls.

DIRECTIONS to the Last Refuge:
entrance for this show is 133 Rye Lane, opposite Blenheim Grove: go through the passage to the courtyard in front of the Bussey building and head to the gate at the top right hand side of the courtyard and you will see the Last Refuge down the alley alongside the Bussey building. A member of Company of Shadows will be around outside so you shouldn’t miss us.
